2020 BMW X7 Specs and Release Date
2020 BMW X7 Specs and Release Date. Twenty years ago, general society and the press opined that the idea of a BMW SUV was interesting yet wrong. That lineup will grow again at the 2018 Los Angeles auto show with the addition of a range-topping model named the BMW X7 that will take BMW into a segment it has never played in before. As its name implies, the BMW X7 is the 7 Series of the SUV world.
And, as we expected, the Concept BMW X7 unveiled in 2017 was, in fact, the production model with a handful of futuristic design tweaks. Its front end is dominated by the largest, most extroverted rendition of BMW’s historic kidney grille we’ve seen to date. It’s flanked by swept-back headlights inspired by the ones seen on the latest 7 and 5 Series models. Air breathers chiseled into the fenders right behind the front wheels and a D-pillar with a Hofmeister kink create a visual link between the BMW X7 and the company’s other models. Goodness, and while BMW Review officials laughed off our queries about an eventual BMW X7, that’s not the same as a definitive “No”; Mercedes-AMG does offer a GLS63 after all.
We drove both the six-cylinder and the V-8 on two-lanes and briefly on the highway near Spartanburg, South Carolina, where all BMW X7 will be worked alongside their BMW X5/BMW X6 and BMW X3/BMW X4 siblings. Despite the X7’s extra mass compared with the X5 (how much extra BMW isn’t ready to say), the turbo six is perfectly adequate in this application, however its more prominent quality is silence. It’s all yet quiet, an impression enhanced by the eight-speed automatic’s ultra-smooth shifts. The V-8 proves more charming, however, owing to its effortless acceleration accompanied by an occasional quieted rumble.
2020 BMW X7 Exterior
The 2020 BMW X7 Specs and Release Date, will ride on the new CLAR platform, which will soon underpin every Bimmer north of the 2-Series. This platform’s main concern is weight reduction, so search for the BMW X7 to be svelte for its footprint, however we don’t expect to see the Carbon Core that helped the 7-Series cut so much weight. 2020 BMW X5 Review. Try not to expect a fresh new shape when the finished BMW X7 makes its open presentation in late-2018.
It’ll look very similar to BMW’s recent X7 iPerformance idea, shown above left, and draws inspiration from many current BMW SUVs. Its tall body, long hood and enormous wheels should all assistance make it a standout amongst the most ‘imposing’ vehicles on the road. Images of the prototype (above right) show that the idea’s gigantic kidney grilles have been carried over mostly unchanged however its fly out door handles, enormous one-piece panoramic glass roof and fiddly chrome trims have been dropped in favor of simpler items.

It’ll accompany gesture controls (borrowed from the 7 Series) and be significantly more intuitive to use than the rather antiquated setup you get in a GLS. 2020 BMW X6 Price and Review. The BMW’s massive body will accompany a very practical boot and seven seats, all of which will be sufficiently spacious for adults – on short journeys at least.
